White Nights by Ann Cleeves
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Bella was so unlikable it was almost a pleasure watching her world unravel. From my perspective, there was too little of Bella in the book. Oh well. The nearly dead hamlet in which she lives is nicely described, as are the few remaining inhabitants. So when the killer is identified, it was a bit of a surprise because it felt incongruous with what we knew of the people there. I'm also not thrilled with the Big City detective coming in and competing with Jimmy.
